Raising awareness among visitors

Nîmes welcomes many visitors from all over the world all year round. A few kilometres from the city is an airport which is linked to the city centre by a shuttle bus available at each plane arrival and departure.

The geographical location at the crossroads of major motorways allows it to be accessible by car, but also to be served by public transport such as long-distance buses.
With a view to limiting the impact of cars in the city centre, Nîmes has several park-and-ride facilities located at the entrances to the city. The one at the Nîmes-centre motorway exit also provides a link with the historic centre via a TRAMBUS line and also has a car-sharing area. A relay car park located further downstream serves the city's main sports facilities as well as the Exhibition Centre; it also has 9 parking spaces dedicated to tourist buses and long-distance connections (Flixbus).

Nîmes is easily accessible by train as it has 2 TGV stations: the main station of Nîmes-centre offers direct access to the historic centre, the one of Nîmes- Pont du Gard located 11 kms away is linked to the city centre by shuttles. The destination is thus connected to the main regions that generate traffic: Ile de France, including Roissy airport, the Rhône Valley, Lille and Barcelona, to name but a few. The development of a network of regional trains and buses facilitates travel and access to many tourist sites.

We encourage our visitors to come and discover our destination using more environmentally friendly means of transport. Once in the area, our travel consultants encourage visitors to discover the area using soft modes of transport: guided walking tours of the city, cycle tours, etc.
But you can also discover the region thanks to the actions of the SNCF and the Occitanie Region, which have set up connections between the towns of the region by regional train or bus at particularly attractive rates, allowing you to discover the region easily, quickly, economically and ecologically.

We make our visitors aware of the practice of electronic information by encouraging them to download all our materials. The professional brochures dedicated to groups, the press or business customers are only available in electronic form.

In order to offer a wide range of activities to as many people as possible, we have adopted a reception strategy that promotes accessibility and the practice of our activities for people with disabilities. Our reception office has been awarded the Tourism and Disability label.

We also take care to apply a pricing policy for our visits and activities that allows low-income customers to access our services. Thus, adapted tariffs are proposed (young people and students, people in precarious situations) and we are developing partnerships with institutions whose offer is thus extended: youth passport of the City of Nîmes, Occ'ygène card of the Occitanie Region.
We have also created a tour offer that allows visitors to benefit from a 50% discount on the entrance fee to all the sites: the Nîmes city pass is available in a 2, 4 or 7 day formula.

The region's tourist offer is promoted through a catalogue of discovery offers favouring gentle activities and the consumption of short-distance products, drawn up in partnership with the destination's service providers and intended for individual customers. A similar approach has been taken with regard to group customers.
